Orbitfall Alpha Enters Playtesting

Orbitfall has reached a major milestone: the Alpha version has been fully printed, including all cards in the current set.

This is the first time Orbitfall exists as a complete, physical game. Every card is on the table, all abilities are included, and players can now experience the full scope of the universe in play. While this build is labeled an Alpha, it represents a significant step forward in development, evolving from a collection of isolated ideas to a cohesive, full experience.

At this stage, the goal of this print run is to facilitate deeper testing of how the game looks and feels as a whole:

  • Do the cards provide a challenging and rewarding experience?

  • Does the game include multiple scenarios, situations, and decision points?

  • Do the mechanics interact fairly and in a balanced way?

  • Do the complete card pools interact properly with each other across matches?

  • Do playstyles and faction identities remain clear?

  • Does the game offer pacing, tension, and decision density from start to finish?

  • Do players have opportunities to make meaningful choices?

  • Are we having fun?

Having the entire set available also allows us to observe more subtle phenomena, such as emergent strategies, deck design, unexpected interactions, and patterns that only emerge when all systems are in play. These insights are essential before moving into refinement and final publication.

This Alpha print will support ongoing playtesting, including upcoming public sessions, and will directly inform balance tweaks, clarity improvements, and targeted design adjustments.

Orbitfall is no longer just being tested in parts; it’s being tested as a complete game. This marks an exciting and revealing phase of development.

Stay tuned for more updates on Orbitfall as we come closer to releasing the game!
